It was a short time to come Family Tree Maker 2019. It has arrived and hopes were not the first time after a deceitful first major release of Mackiev.
The latest new feature of family tree maker 2019 is TreeVault. MacKiev’s proprietary online backup tool. It costs £20 a year, but the primary 12 months is included together with your FTM purchase. TreeVault is a new feature for FTM data. You are still syncing your tree with Ancestry and FamilySearch. It only works on one computer today. But you can access your tree on your mobile phone through a free application (Family Tree Maker Connect).
Family Tree Maker Connect
You can view and link the TreeVault subscription on the pass by installing the new Maker Connect application genealogy.
Other features include a Next of Kin notification service and a Historical Weather program. Thankfully, MacKiev hasn’t neglected the remainder of the program. You can store your last 1000 changes in your tree with ftm 2019.
Turn Back Time
FTM 2019 has new features named Turn Back Time. Not only are you able to review recent edits, but you’ll wipe out multiple edits in one go do you have to realize you’ve made an error – albeit you’ve closed and reopened your enter the meantime. And yes, it’s all protected to TreeVault just in case of disaster.
One feature of finally making an appearance is that the ability to edit a person’s profile picture to supply a headshot without affecting the first image. It works well and offers both manual and automatic controls (the latter works perfectly when there’s just one person within the photo). Simple, effective, and long overdue.
Family Tree Maker 2019 profile picture perfection
You can now select a headshot for every ancestor’s profile picture. Family Tree Maker 2019 also introduces a replacement Tree Browser tool. This allows you to urge a summary of all of your data files, including GEDCOM and people stored online, complete with a handy summary of what’s in each and what online services it’s linked to.
FamilySearch integration become improved. It’s now possible to make a replacement tree from a whole FamilySearch branch. Ensuring all relations are automatically linked to FamilySearch. You can now also quickly link people in your tree to their FamilySearch record by clicking Match on the online Search screen when reviewing matches.
Once done, Family Tree Maker can provide record hints from FamilySearch. Although you continue to can’t attach them directly. The trick is to match a private, return to the People screen, review any hints then add them to your online tree. Once done, use the Merge button to feature the facts to your tree.
Fiddly, but almost workable
All these new features are bound up during an interface that’s fundamentally unchanged, making the transition from 2017 to 2019 incredibly easy. Dig deeper, though, and you’ll find subtle improvements: the people index now displays hints next to people’s names, for instance, while a person’s folder tabs now display counters to point what percentage items are enclosed inside all.
Family Tree Maker also expands on two features introduced within the previous version: first, the color-coding feature designed to assist trace lineages now supports up to eight colors per person and allows you to incorporate ancestors’ descendants during a color scheme too. And second, saved filters are now officially smart, which suggests they’ll automatically update to incorporate new people that meet whatever criteria you set as you create edits.
Family Tree Maker Tree Browser
With this new feature, you can view all trees that you made till the current time. We were slightly underwhelmed when MacKiev released Family Tree Maker 2017, but Family Tree Maker 2019 – despite the hefty tag (look for upgrade offers that accompany a £30 discount) – may be a worthy update.
When you mix in new features like improved FamilySearch integration, profile headshots, and therefore the Turn Back Time feature with existing strengths, like Ancestry integration, mapping tools, and publishing features, Family Tree Maker 2019 Review demonstrates its firmly back within the game while challenging its rivals to up their game with their forthcoming new releases.
