Are you unable to view census records in Family Tree Maker? Please read this blog and understand why you can not view census records in Family Tree Maker.
What Is The Census Record?
In simple words, A census record is a way for a country to know the population, lifestyle, education and many other things.
Why Are You Unable To View Census Records?
Recently, ancestry launched 1950 census records. After the 1950 census record launch, something changed between the ancestry and family tree maker. We spoke to MacKiev, and as per them, their engineers are working on it, and soon they will resolve the issue.
Note: The issue is in FTM, as far as we understand, but we can not say for sure that ancestry did not cause this issue. Hopefully, they will work together and fix this issue.
Is There Any Workaround?
Please follow the steps below:-
- Select the person whose census records you want to search.
- Click on the Websearch tab at the top of your Family Tree Maker 2019.
- Search for the census records.
- Right-click on the record and click “open link in new window”.
Note: You can still merge all census records from ancestry to family tree maker. You may not be able to view it in the browser, but when you merge it in your tree, you can view it in Family Tree Maker.
When will this issue be resolved?
We do not know. We spoke to MacKiev on 15th July 2022, and they will resolve it soon. You will get an email to update your Family tree maker as soon as they fix it. You will need to update the software, and it will fix the issue.
Conclusion: Unable to view census records is not a permanent issue. MacKiev will resolve it, and the customer will get an update to fix this issue.
